JIL

My name is Jillian.  I grew up in Southern Ohio, about an hour east of Cincinnati right on the Ohio River.  I could see Kentucky from my bed room window.  As a child I tried about every sport and activity, ballet and tap, softball, soccer, basketball, cheering.  Yeah I did it all.  Then I realized I wasn't actually any good at any of them.  I did keep playing soccer through high school.  Even scored a goal one time they let me off the bench! 

When I graduated from high school, I went to Northern Kentucky University for one year.  The day I moved in there I started planning to transfer to The Ohio State University.  My long time best bud was a NKU with me...but there was a boy at OSU.  Yeah I was that girl that changed schools for a boy.  While the boy didn't work out, the school really did.  I spent the next 4 years enjoying every moment.  Joined a sorority and after a few attempts, finally found a major I could live with.  After 5 years of school I graduated with my degree in medical technology.  No clue what that means?!  Yeah join the club.  Most of my friends still don't understand what I do for a living. 

I have been running off and on for years.  I have always been slow but I am go for awhile.  In 2010 I decided to try running races.  I did the Race for the Cure in May.  It was packed and annoying but an amazing event.  Then I had my eyes set on a half marathon.  With some friends we trained.  I finished the race but not how I wanted it to go.  I fell apart around mile 8 and just couldn't get through it.  So this year I am determined to do much much better.  If all goes well my next big race will be the Flying Pig half. 

Outside of working and running...friends and family are the focus of my every days.  I have an older brother and 3 younger half siblings.  One nephew who is the funniest kid ever.  And of course the Cable Guy....who doesn't work in the cable industry or even have cable at home!  And my friends are all pretty cool...I mean they aren't me but close enough I guess.
